Enver and the Senior Management Team report into a group of Trustees who ensure that we stay true to our mission and help plan ahead for the future.

Rachael Orr, Chair
Rachael is the CEO of Climate Outreach. Climate Outreach helps people and organisations tell a new climate story.

Enver Solomon, CEO
Enver joined the Refugee Council as Chief Executive in December 2020, following nearly three years as CEO of Just for Kids Law, a charity providing youth support and legal representation to children and young people facing adversity.

Harriet Oppenheimer, Vice Chair
Harriet is a senior leader with experience across a breadth of sectors. She has spent over 20 years as a management consultant and Partner at PA Consulting, where she worked across government, health and life sciences sectors, helping organisations shape and deliver strategic change.

Alf Dubs, Baron Dubs
Alf Dubs, Baron Dubs is a Labour politician and leading refugee rights advocate. Formerly the MP for Battersea, Alf was appointed as a Labour life peer in 1994, and in 1997 he became Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Northern Ireland Office.

Dame Emma Thompson
Dame Emma is best known as an award-winning actress, but her talents go much further than that. Writer, director, comedian, campaigner, she is a true multi-hyphenate talent.

Elsa Hefes
Elsa Hefes was born in France. Her father was a Jewish refugee who fled by boat to France from Egypt in 1956 with his family, when 80,000 Jews were expelled from the country during the nationalisation of the Suez Canal.

Anne McLoughlin
Anne’s career began in housing rights advice before moving to supported housing where she gained a reputation for great services that engaged and empowered service users.

Clare Paterson
Clare is an experienced and award winning programme-maker. She has been responsible for popular formats such as Great British Bake-Off as well as a wide range of individual films examining the fabric of Britain.

Diana Fawcett
Diana was the CEO of Victim Support from 2018 until July 2023 after being the Director of Operations from 2015-2018.

Dr Gerry Power
Dr Gerry Power is Partner and Managing Director at Purpose, based in London.

Ghino Parker
Ghino is a youth and community strategist. She started out as a youth worker supporting female participation and inclusion for young people with special needs and disabilities.

Ian Hanham
Ian is an experienced Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer. He has a mix of not for profit and commercial experience; having worked in the oil and gas industry in a range of senior roles in finance and associated functions, he moved to the not for profit sector in 2007.

Imran Hussain
Imran provides strategic leadership for our Communications and Campaigns, Public Affairs and Policy and Internal Communications teams.

Lindsay Taylor
Lindsay joined the Refugee Council in July 2022 as Executive Director of Finance and Resources

Lyndall Stein
Lyndall Stein has worked building support for international organisations working on a wide range of issues including the liberation of South Africa, access to treatments for HIV/AIDS, and poverty/inequality.

Marc Tilley
Marc is a young professional in the field of human rights, forced migration and humanitarian protection, and currently works on advancing our understanding of how climate change exacerbates the vulnerabilities of those affected by instability and conflict.

Renae Mann
Renae joined the Refugee Council in 2021 from the No Accommodation Network where she was National Director. She brings over 20 years of experience working with people seeking asylum, refugees and migrants in casework, business development and leadership roles.

Sayyeda Salam
Sayyeda recently joined Concern Worldwide UK as Executive Director. Prior to this she worked for Save the Children for fifteen years, where she held roles across Fundraising and Marketing, Policy and Advocacy, and Operations.

Tamsin Baxter
Tamsin joined the Refugee Council in 2021, bringing 20 years of experience of fundraising and communications.
During her career, Tamsin has led fundraising teams at a number of charities, most recently those at disability charity Scope and London’s sight loss charity Fight for Sight.

Tayo Salami
Tayo oversees our Finance, People and Culture, Technology, Facilities, Risk and Compliance functions.
