Thank you for your ongoing support!

We’re very grateful to everyone who has supported this campaign. This means that we can continue to support people through the hardest times by providing warm food, housing and legal support, and counselling.

The campaign focused on refugees facing homelessness and the work we do supporting them to rebuild their lives. We know that having a safe home and finding a stable job are crucial.

Many of the people we support face a lot of uncertainty once they are recognised as refugees. They have to find new housing, open a bank account and find a job. This can be a very difficult task when you have no support.

We’re very grateful to Omar, Miguel and Ruba who agreed to share their stories to help us raise awareness of the challenges refugees face.

Through the campaign we spoke to various front-line teams at the Refugee Council. They shared how we provide emergency essentials like food and clothing for refugees who are homeless. They also explained how we offer long-term practical support. This includes helping refugees find affordable housing, get work, learn English, understand their rights and access counselling.

We spoke to Kellie from our Destitution Service, who shared how the service is a safe space for people experiencing homelessness. Here people can have a hot meal, a shower and somewhere to wash their clothes.

Andy from our Refugee Advice Project talked to us about how him and the team liaise with the local authorities and support people with a range of issues. This includes navigating the benefits system, support with their housing situation and help with registering with a GP.

We also spoke to Adonis from our Private Rented Scheme who talked to us about the support he and the team provide. They help newly-recognised refugees who are in need of securing housing through private tenancies.

We’d like to thank everyone who has been part of this campaign and who supported us. We could not have done this without you! With you by our side, we can continue to support refugees to thrive and become an integral part of our communities.
