Children’s Advice Project
We have provided the only national service providing advice and support to children who arrive in the UK on their own seeking asylum since 1994. Our team helps children through the asylum system and ensures that they are protected and represented. We also give information to carers and other professionals who work with children and young people. -

Age Dispute Project
Most unaccompanied children arriving in the UK have their age accepted. But in some cases the Home Office or local authorities don’t believe the age they claim to be. When we believe a child is being treated as an adult, we help them to get the support and protection which all children need. -

Based in a busy East London bakery, Just Bread is a 12-week training programme for refugee women who want to connect with others and learn new baking skills as a possible route towards employment. -

Building Bridges is an NHS funded partnership that supports refugee health professionals living in London to restart their careers. -

Starbucks: helping refugees into jobs
In 2017 Starbucks made a pledge to employ 10,000 refugees worldwide within five years—500 of these will find permanent employment as baristas in the UK. Starbucks and Refugee Council are working together to help refugees gain the skills they need. -

A private rental is the only option for many single refugees who are not viewed as priorities for housing by local authorities. But finding a deposit and rent in advance for landlords is beyond the reach of most. Many face homelessness and destitution. We act to prevent this. -
