On 25 April 2024, the Refugee Council co-hosted the Reclaiming Lived Experience Leadership conference in London with Freedom from Torture, Refugee Action, and Migration Exchange.
This event brought together 75 sector professionals to advocate for a more inclusive approach led by lived experience.
The conference highlighted the need for accountability, collective action, and sharing best practices to create a more inclusive sector.
At the Refugee Council, our focus was on enhancing employment opportunities for staff and volunteers with lived experience. We discussed strategies to improve recruitment practices, provide holistic support, and create a positive, inclusive work culture.
