Refugee Council supports new handbook from the Council for Assisting Refugee Academics (CARA)

In response to the publication by the Council for Assisting Refugee Academics (CARA) of a handbook to get more refugees into higher education Maeve Sherlock, Chief Executive of the Refugee Council said:

“This handbook is a welcome and important contribution towards helping refugees rebuild their lives. Too often, refugees who are highly skilled and motivated are prevented from using those skills. Refugees bring with them a wealth of talent and expertise and it is in everybody’s interest to assist them in developing and using this talent to the full.

“The handbook will be an invaluable tool for refugees themselves and for advisers helping them get into further and higher education and find work that properly reflects their skills and experience.”
