From today, the Refugee Council’s London offices have moved, and while continuing to run all of its current services, the charity will be working in a new way that better meets the needs of its clients.
The free Own Language Telephone Advice Service (OLTAS) will continue to be the main way for clients to get in touch (freephone 0808 808 2255). The Refugee Council will continue to provide face-to-face services for clients in our satellite offices around London if they need to speak to an adviser in person, destitution services for our most vulnerable clients, specialist services for clients with physical and mental health needs, and advice and support for unaccompanied children.
The Refugee Council’s Head Office has moved to Stratford, London. The departments based there are the Executive team, Advocacy and Influencing team, Integration, Income Generation, Business Support, Business Services, Finance, IT, and HR, as well as some client services. All post for our London offices should now be sent to this central address: PO Box 68614, London, E15 9DQ.
The Refugee Council’s client services outside of London will continue to function as usual.
The change follows substantial cuts to funding for Refugee Council client services last year, when the organisation had to make major changes to the way it ran its client services. In light of these circumstances, the charity has used the opportunity to implement changes that will enable them to better help their clients with the resources it now has.
The Refugee Council has been offering practical and emotional support and advice to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK since 1951, and remains committed to ensuring those who are seeking protection here can get the support they need to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
