Social Enterprise – 16 February 2011

Social Enterprise has become a commonly used phrase with the new oalition government and RCOs may be both intrigued and unsure about what Social Enterprise really means for their organisations and stakeholders. This training has been designed with RCOs in mind and will combine the most important information, a real life case study from a Social Enterprise RCO and a chance to speak with Social Enterprise London.  (Run by the Basis Project team)

Evidencing need for funding applications – 1 March 2011

One of the challenges RCOs face in fundraising for their projects and programme activities is to demonstrate that there is a need for the organisation to carry out their activities. This course will cover some general principles of fundraising, looking at sources of information and statistics, understanding methods of carrying out your own research and making stronger applications.  (Run by the Refugee Council Development team)

Running a project – 9 March 2011

This course discusses tried and tested tools that you can use to ensure your project is as well run as possible. It will cover tools for making sure everyone knows what to do when, for monitoring and evaluating the change you’re making and for communicating with your stakeholders. This is intended to be run after the ‘evidencing need’ course as the two trainings complement each other. (Run by the Basis Project team)

Train the trainer (fundraising) – 22 and 23 March 2011

Details to be confirmed.  (Run by the Refugee Council Development team)

Governance – 6 April 2011

Governance refers to the systems by which organisations are run. This includes the laws and regulations which they must abide by. Our training programme seeks to guide RCOs and help them to take a broader view of governance that goes beyond compliance with the law and includes strategic development and leadership.
