It is important that we uphold the principles and laws of refugee protection – the asylum protection pledge is therefore very useful, but I am very disappointed that none of the politicians have made any attempt to tell the truth about asylum or refugees, or sought to open up a discussion about the reasons why people move from their home countries, and therefore what needs to be done.
