Welcome to the Refugee Council Poliblog!

This is the start of a new initiative from the Refugee Council to better share information about the politics of refugee and asylum issues in the UK.  The blog will be kept up to date with the reflections, insights and musings of those who spend their working lives advocating for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers in the public square.

In case you were wondering about the name, ‘Poliblog’ derives from the Greek term ‘polis’ (from which we get the word politics) and then we’ve just added blog (which is short for ‘weblog’ – an online diary) on the end.  Some marketing people would take six months and a small fortune to come up with a name like that!

Anyway, you can leave comments (please no abuse – I’m monitoring this so you’ll just be wasting your time!) or start a debate at the bottom of each post, so do let us know what you think.
