I joined the Refugee Council in July 2019 as Projects Finance Officer. Previously I was a client here supported by the integration team and completed a course, helping refugees get back into jobs.
I am currently working with all of the staff that are involved with the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) project including external organisations who work in partnership with the Refugee Council.
On a day to day basis, I liaise with non-finance staff to help them understand the financial aspect of the project in a more simplified and lucid manner. I am responsible for helping non-finance managers build and develop a thorough financial credence in their decision making.
Whilst working in my role I have gained good communication and interpersonal skills from my current and previous experiences being able to effectively network and build relationships with a wide range of professionals.
In addition to my role at the Refugee Council, I am a chef. I love cooking and I enjoy discovering and developing new recipes and also sharing my passion with people I meet. I am also currently in the process of working towards a CIMA Qualification and I am finally almost at the end of the course!
