Support and information for people affected by the crisis in Sudan

A summary of the most recent information from a range of sources to help people affected by the crisis in Sudan. This page will be updated regularly as more information becomes available.

You or your loved ones want to leave Sudan

The UK Government is no longer evacuating British nationals in Sudan. Please see this link for information from the Government on the current travel advisories regarding Sudan. This advises British nationals to contact the 24/7 helpline on +44 1908 516 666, selecting option 2 for consular services for British nationals.

It also has guidance on what to do if you are concerned for friends and family: If you’re in the UK and worried about a British person in Sudan, telephone 020 7008 5000. You can also submit a written enquiry, or contact us on Twitter or Facebook.

See more information here.

You are unable to contact family in Sudan

The British Red Cross provides an Internal Family Tracing service. If your relatives are not answering normal communications such as telephone, email or mobile, Red Cross may be able to help. Please contact your nearest British Red Cross office and tell them they would like to contact a family member.

You are from Sudan, living in the UK and have made an asylum claim

If you have been refused but your appeal has not been heard, you may wish to speak to your legal rep to ensure the latest information is heard by the judge.

If you are appeal rights exhausted and/or have been issued with removal directions, it is important that you seek legal advice. If you need advice or to get a new legal representative, these organisations can provide you with help to understand your options and access a legal representative.

Ask if you qualify for free legal advice (legal aid) before paying for it.

If you are destitute you can contact our Infoline on 0808 196 7272 to access support services in your area.
