Youth Services - Refugee Council

Youth Services

The Refugee Council Children’s Services have recently gone through some changes, including the relocation from Croydon to central London to broaden our support to young people across London and the change to the service offer to deliver impact.

The new Youth Services strategy with input from staff, volunteers, young people and partners aims to:

  • Broaden our support to enable young people across London to apply for asylum, access essential services and therapeutic support, and develop their skills and confidence.
  • Offer peer-to-peer youth development support to enable young people with lived experience to share their experience and insight.
  • Engage more volunteers and collaborate with partner organisations to maximise our reach and impact.

To deliver our new Youth Services strategy using the limited resources we have available, the Youth Services department will consist of three teams:

  • My View Therapeutic Services: this team will deliver one-to-one and group therapeutic support in London and areas such as East Sussex, Kent and Medway.
  • Youth Casework Project: this new team centralises our casework expertise by bringing together our Age Dispute Project and a casework service for other clients.
  • Regional Youth and Peer Development Project: this team replaces the Youth Development Project and expands our support to young people across London. It will deliver learning, development and community activities. In addition, there will be a focus on establishing new lived experience youth groups who will provide peer support.

This page will be updated with our new location, details of the service offering, referral information and contact details in the coming weeks.
