Drop-in destitution service in Hackney

Practical advice and support, pastoral care, emergency provision, food, laundry and shower.

What we offer

We provide the following support:

  • Pastoral care
  • Cold and hot food
  • Referrals to other specialist services including legal advice
  • Health access
  • Shelter and hosting schemes
  • Shower and laundry
  • ESOL classes
  • Psychosocial activities including workshops in photography, art and music so the clients can learn new skills and develop a way of reconnecting with themselves

Who it's for

  • Asylum seekers who have applied for any support and are waiting for a decision on the application eg Section 95, 98 welfare benefits, charitable funds
  • Failed/refused asylum seekers whose appeal rights have been exhausted and who have applied for Section 4 support and are waiting for a decision or have appealed and also waiting for a decision
  • Asylum seekers whose support from Social Services has stopped and who are applying for support from the Home Office
  • Vulnerable and homeless asylum seekers who have lost contact with their asylum application and have no legal representation
  • Refugees granted status but who are waiting for housing and welfare benefits
