Lewisham Wellbeing Therapeutic Service

A therapeutic service for asylum seekers, recently recognized refugees (within six months), resettled refugees and Ukrainian nationals based in the London borough of Lewisham.

What we offer

  • Individual therapeutic counselling sessions: Up to 12 weeks of one-to-one therapeutic counselling for adults and young people.
  • Group therapeutic counselling sessions: Tree of life groups and psychosocial group sessions available for both adults and young people.
  • A weekly mother and toddler groups for children aged 0-3 on Tuesday mornings: For more information, please contact us via email.
  • Specialised therapy for young people: Psychological dramatherapy, providing a creative space for expression using drama, stories, movement, art and play.
  • Cultural and gender sensitivity: Our services are inclusive and trauma-informed, aiming to reduce distress and enhance well-being.
  • Access to interpreters: we work with interpreters in our sessions when required.
  • Flexible delivery: Sessions are available face-to-face in Lewisham or online, depending on client needs.

Who it's for

  • Adults and families seeking asylum
  • Recently recognized refugees (within the last six months)
  • Adults and families who arrived under Refugee Resettlement schemes (including VPRS, VCRS, UKRS, ARAP and ACRS)
  • Young people (13-18 years old)
  • Ukrainian refugees, both adults and young people (13-18 years old), who have relocated to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine scheme and are residing in Lewisham.

Clients must be a resident in the London borough of Lewisham.
