Building Bridges Programme for Refugee Health Professionals
What is this service?
You may need more qualifications to work as a doctor in the UK. We can help you:
- Prepare for Occupational English Test (OET).
- Prepare for the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB)
- Improve your English language skills.
- Learn about working in the National Health Service (NHS)
- Take part in work experience. This will help you learn about systems in the UK.
- Get professional registration. This is through the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Learn about how to get a job in the UK.
- Meet other people in a situation like yours. Share your experiences and provide support.
- Pay for exams, travel and childcare.
Can I use this service?
You can access this service if you:
- Are a qualified refugee health professional. Take a look at the acceptable overseas qualifications from the General Medical Council.
- You would like to practice in the UK.
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Live in London
