Purpose of the Job
The Refugee Council’s IT team supports our staff, volunteers and technology in offices, outreach locations and home working locations across England. Effective IT, communication and print systems are crucial in enabling our staff and volunteers to deliver services to refugee and asylum seeking clients, advocate on their behalf and lead the refugee community organisation sector.
The Refugee Council plans to invest heavily in a digital transformation over the next three years starting with a planned migration to Microsoft 365 in the coming months allowing staff to work more flexibly than before where this post will play a leading role in developing the IT infrastructure to support the Refugee Council moving forwards.
Reporting to the Head of IT and Facilities, the post holder will play a key role in the planned migration of the existing hosted desktop infrastructure to Microsoft 365 working closely with IT champions and key stakeholders across the business. The role will assist in delivering a major IT project, the subsequent training and the support of the new infrastructure ensuring the Refugee Council achieves maximum return on its investment.

The post holder is responsible for:
Cooperating with the Refugee Council in delivering all legal responsibilities in respect of your own and your colleagues, volunteers, clients and others health and safety whilst at work
In order to deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post-holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties will, however, fall within the scope of the job, at the appropriate grade. The job description will be subject to periodic review with the post-holder to ensure it accurately reflects the duties of the job.
